School of Fine Arts
Since 1997, the School of Fine Arts at First
Baptist Church has provided quality musical and arts instruction through private
lessons and classroom formats. The School of Fine Arts is made up of a
professional, dedicated faculty who teach in a nurturing, supportive and
wholesome environment for optimal learning and enjoyment. Students of all ages
are welcome.
If you have always wanted to play an
instrument for your own enjoyment or wanted
your child, or a child in your care, to
learn to enjoy and play music, or just to
have fun in a group setting, we can make
that dream come true for you. If your dream
is to go into music as a career or to
perform in competitions, we can help you
make that dream come true, too. We can also
help if your desire is to enjoy the creative
arts with others of similar interests.

Kindermusik®
Welcome to Kindermusik®
at First Baptist Church School
of Fine Arts! We invite you to
participate in the world’s
leading program of music and
movement for children from birth
to seven years old. Dedicated to
the development of the whole
child, the curriculum is gently
structured and focuses on
activities that promote growth
in cognitive, physical, social,
emotional and language
development. This valuable
learning experience is designed
to last a lifetime.
Founded in Germany during the
1960s, a group of music
educators collaborated to create
a program for children to
experience music in a joyful
environment prior to instruction
in a formal setting. The program
was translated and adapted for
American families in the 1970s.
Kindermusik was revised in the
1980s to be inclusive of a more
culturally diverse audience.
Under the direction of Dr.
Jonathan Crutchfield, our School
of Fine Arts became affiliated
and individual instructors
licensed to offer Kindermusik in
1997.
