What
a wonderful presentation Mark
and Dave from Turner/Batson gave
on Wednesday night, Dec. 12. I
think all who participated in
the Listening Sessions this past
July can truly say Mark and Dave
listened to what we, the members
of FBC, said and put our desires
on paper. And did you hear the
murmurs of approval when we were
shown digital pictures of what
could be?
What was shown to you on
Wednesday night and what is here
on the website is the
preliminary drawing of our
master plan. There is more
tweaking that can be done.
Both
the floor plans and the pictures
will be on display one week
outside the Fellowship Hall and
in the narthex the next week.
Please take time to look over
them carefully.

Here are some of the ideas that
came out of Wednesday night:
have a ramp from the Sanctuary
seating area to the chancel
area, have an elevator at the
chapel end of the building that
will go to all three floors, and
cover the proposed entry way
from the upper parking lot.
Turner/Batson will continue to
gather information for our
master plan through January
20th, 2008. There will be many
opportunities for you to give
input. Email
terri@1stbaptistcha.org with
your comments and your ideas for
the master plan.
There will also be forms around
the building and in the Sunday
School boxes that you may fill
out. If you will return them to
the church office, they will be
compiled and sent on to
Turner/Batson.
This is a time to see what we
could do better to create
worship spaces not just for us,
but for all those who will come
after us. Please take some time
to list your ideas to enhance
our worship space. |
