If you are, or have, a student in grades 6-12, we have a place for you!
At First Baptist, we have many ways for students to get involved each week. We have a variety of activities to fit your interests, needs, and schedules!
On Sunday mornings in the Youth Room from 9:30–10:30, our focus is on building relationships and preparing our hearts and minds for worship. Youth are divided into three classes: Middle School, 9th-10th Grades, and 11th-12th Grades which are mixed with girls and guys. Through this we provide a laid-back time to hang out with each other as well as a time to learn about and understand the scriptures utilized in worship which follows at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary.
Sunday nights from 6:00-7:30 in the Youth Room, our focus is on going deeper and developing our faith. In the fall, we break into small groups, which are led by local college students and young adults who have a heart for teenagers and for God. In these small groups youth will focus on a key word or phrase from Scripture which will help them develop, strengthen and deepen their faith. In the spring, the set up for our Sunday night time together alters some. Our leaders will continue to help youth engage scripture and faith through creative ways and through worship in a variety of group settings.
On Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00 in the Youth Room we offer a mid-week break where students can hang out with friends, play games, and have a time to pray for and with each other.
We believe in empowering youth to learn about and to do ministry as well as strengthening their faith in Christ. This is carried out by providing opportunities for them to engage in community mission projects, discipleship retreats, mission trips, summer camps and other events. As youth participate in the weekly and seasonal activities they are given the chance to strengthen relationships with each other and to have their lives directed and dedicated toward the one who created them!
Universal Release Forms are required for youth to participate in church-sponsored events. Click here to download the most current form.
